PROGRAMS FOR ALL AGES
At Tahoe Community Sailing we believe in the opportunity for everyone! From all ages to abilities, it is never too early or too late, Tahoe Community Sailing can offer something for everyone. From teamwork and leadership skills to learning water safety there is something for everyone at Tahoe Community Sailing. Our youth classes help build confidence on the water, while teaching teamwork. Advanced classes are open for all who accept the challenge. For adults it is our philosophy that at any age, anyone can enjoy boating. For the competitive, we offer weekly races to test the skills and abilities of our sailors. Our facilities give sailors from all walks of life and ability levels an opportunity to learn how fun it is to sail.
ADULT CLASSES
Adult classes are designed for those who are looking to expand their knowledge or looking for a new hobby.
RACING CLASSES
Our racing classes are for those seeking a more competitive environment.
YOUTH CAMPS
Beginning youth class covers all the fundamentals of sailing including water safety, leadership training, teamwork and boat handling.
ADVANCED CLASSES
Intermediate classes are for those advanced students who have spent some time around and on boats.

Our Background & Philosophy
Since 1997, Tahoe Community Sailing has brought the world of sailing and water sports to people of all ages and abilities. Our programs have taught a range of people from at-risks kids to retirees. Our award winning programs teach water safety, leadership and teamwork skills to those in the Tahoe area. At Tahoe Community Sailing we pride ourselves in teaching in a fun and accessible environment. We create leaders of the community who value one another while having fun in a safe place on the “Tahoe Big Blue”. We pride ourselves on quality sailing instruction for youth & adults with an emphasis on boating safety. Tahoe Community Sailing offers sailing, paddle-boarding, and professionally programmed learning for everyone. All programs include instructional classes and on-the-water instruction.
We have received awards for the Outstanding Recreational Program in California by the California Parks Association in 2003 and the “Outstanding Seasonal Sailing Program” in 2008 by US Sailing. Also, we were awarded the PICYA, Condon Trophy for selfless promotion of youth sailing in 2013.
Our Staff: Our staff is composed of junior councilors and adult instructors. We are proud of our junior councilors who have gone though the program and have made it apart of their working lives. From teaching boating safety to competitive racing these young athletes are great leaders and mentors in the sailing world. Our certified adult instructors are experts in sailing, aquatics and boating safety. All of our instructors focus on leadership and team building while teaching the beauty and joy of being on the water. We take pride in our Jr. Councilor training and leadership programs that are designed to build “winners in Life”. Interested Jr. sailors can start at age 12 yrs. in these programs.
